The Ikarus 211 was the Ikarus factory's largest midi bus. The common feature of the vehicles with leaf springs manufactured in Székesfehérvár is the IFA engine (output 92 kW/125 HP) and the 5+1 speed gearbox.

Serial production started in 1975, the first examples had the following characteristics:

2920 mm height
small front and rear windshields, side windows
straight dashboard
the upper part of the front wall, above the windshield, was boarded up, and the sign holder was placed here

From 1976, the front and rear windshields became normal sized, (the plating of the upper part of the front wall ceased).

From 1978, the height of the vehicle was increased to 3000 mm, it received a three-part dashboard and larger side windows.

Engine: IFA 4VD 14.5/12.1 SRW Direct injection in-line four-cylinder horizontal diesel engine. Maximum output: 91 kW (125 HP) (2300/min)
