Solved Fatal error when loading most maps

After a few years away I just set up RoR on my Mac again using Wine. The version of RoR is 0.4.7.0. and it works perfectly, but when I try to load most maps it crashes the game. I understand that maps from before 0.4xx don't work, but this is happening to me even on ones that I think should be compatible like Greece or Semois. NHelens does work. What can I do to avoid this happening? I've attached the crash log and the error I get in RoR.

Update: Setting my render system to OpenGL seems to have fixed the problem for most maps.
