More fun with excavators...

Hi everybody, I have been long time user of RoR, but decided to write here couple of days ago. I have downloaded negativeices Volvo excavator which is quite awesome by itself. I have also managed to map my Xbox pad to move it like a real thing which is even more awesome. But beyond that I have bumped into a wall. There is not that much to do with an excavator in RoR. Crushing cars and move singular rocks is fun, but it's short termed fun.

So here come my questions. Is it very imposible to create strip of land which can be manipulated (digged) by an excavator? Will load made of bulk material, lets say millions of millions of tiny decagons imitating sand, be very unbearable by graphic cards?

no, it is not possible to have diggable land in RoR.

So bulk load then. What would be an impact of that thing on a graphic card?

that would be an extreme impact. each little particle would have to be made up of atleast 3 nodes and one submesh face

Right now? Not possible.

At some point in the future? Perhaps. It can be implemented (look for post #5).

This would be indeed a great feature, but the developers are focused into other important and WIP features/fixes for now.
