What is the difference between BeamNG and Rigs of Rods?

What is the difference between BeamNG and Rigs of Rods? Apart from the quality of the vehicles and maps (and price).
Is it the same company? (very similar vehicles ...)
Can I use the same vehicles?

Many of the creators of beam ng drive are the people who once made the rigs of rods. gabester made many cars with beam ng drive. The rigs of rods gavril car is also a car made by gabester.
