Bots roaming the forum

I see a lot of bots in the online members list

They're usually using the following username format: Namexyz

You can't access their profiles to report them (I was told that is because they are banned already?)

But then how come they are roaming the forums daily? And why am I seeing ones from weeks ago come back and visit again?

It's just creepy and makes the forum look not cared for. Is there any reason these bots are "shadow-banned" like this? and if so, would it be difficult to have their profiles hidden from the online members list?

Yea, it's like, I come on the forum, wanna see who's online and there's a bunch of bots mixed in with real people, mostly bots, it's annoying.

Also makes you wonder what they're doing. Sending out DMs to random users, or scraping info from user profiles.
