Glory Days

Who was here back in RoR's glory days when there was rarely a time when nobody was on the forums? I find myself here scrolling through threads as the sole member online with somtimes the odd guest, I find it really sad how quiet this place is now, it used to be a safe haven for us kids and adults to hide away from life to create all kinds of wonderful things, now there's something like 13 pages to a couple of years worth of development screens instead of 13 new posts a day, I know we lost a lot to Beam NG But there are still a few names or modelling styles of people I used to know so there are still a few familiar faces but this place is a shell of its former self. I truly find it really sad how we've lost a huge number from the community. I think there's something like 6586 members right now but there used to be that many members on the forums at 1 time.
Just for old time sake here's a few old pictures I've salvaged from the time of the orange forums, not all content is my own

It's hard to imagine that the place was so active at one point (I was late to the party I guess)

It's been like that with a lot of forums and places though. Seems like people just, moved on, lost interest, or have no time - got busy in life.

Sometimes a youtube video gets made and that can bring a small wave of new people, but it's not genuine interest, and usually presents RoR in a wrong way.

But hey, at least RoR is actively being worked on, and not abandoned and that in itself is a lot.

Hi.
Yes, forum changed and lots of discussion moved to discord to, but atm even discord is quiet.

From glory days I remember lots of traffic many started projects, and lots if beef on forum. People bothered moders with requests, tryied involved into way mods are made, some tryied bring models from other games or 3d warehouse. Norm was disrespect to other user and thair work.

Later BeamNG developers tryied shat forum with all repository and clise ror fir good.

Meantime monster truck funs created developed their own community and people that was banned, warned, ashamed of stilling mideks created their websites.

At some point we have here same nice balance with good number of users and moders friendly safe space to share our projects.

Discord server is definitely first place to show what we have done in ror and forum second.

Yeah... we rode the wave from beginning to end. Some of us are still here... but so many have just moved on.

To give some perspective... when I first logged onto the forums, I was 14 years old. I am now 30... think about that insanity.

I spent an unreal amount of time on these forums and who knows how long playing the game... I still exist but I just don't have much time for it anymore.
