help with blender, missing shading drop down menu / tab

im following the new blender tutorial, which is great i must say. . but ive gotten to the part where it says

"[FONT=&quot]Open the [/FONT]Shading[FONT=&quot] menu and click [/FONT]Textured Solid[FONT=Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]:[/FONT][FONT=Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif] "

[/FONT][FONT=Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]only problem is i do not have the option for the shading menu. any info is greatly appreciated. [/FONT]

It'll only show that shading window when in the 3d viewport, not in the uv window.
