How come ror doesn't have mechanical damage?

that moment in ror when you completely trash your car yet, it can still drive.

like destroying the engine in different ways (cracking the radiator or smthing) or snapping the drive shaft (just covering damage that could happen to any type of car)

Rigs of Rods doesnt have mechanical damage by default because its prioritizes frame focus on Soft-Body Physics deformation and is limited by development resources. However, some community-made vehicles do simulate mechanical systems using scripts as far as i can tell.

Mechanical damage systems require a lot of engineering time, testing, and consistent modeling across vehicles.

Not something easily maintained without a large team since Rigs of Rods is a community-driven open-source project, meaning features are typically added by volunteers.

I mean it exists......to a certain extent
Like I did this drop test of the Zeta 2WD where I slammed a wood-mat straight onto the top, its engine had permanently weakened for the rest of the time it was spawned
Basically throttle was weaker and the car was struggling to get up to 50mph in 3 or 4th (any gear was weakened) so it doesn't mean the engine dies, but it does weaken...somewhat. Theres also some suspension damage on some cars if you really abuse it with drop tests or ramps.

video quality is really low because i used the built in Chromebook Recorder to crop it (yeah I know, I need to use scre.io more often)
I did the "struggle to startup" and "engine death" just for effect, but everything else is real
