How to use a Blend.file for cars in rigs of rods?

ilikecars

a guy with dreams
im trying to find a way to attach blend.files to the chassis on the car im working on, Can anyone help? Theres no Tutorials in youtube either, im struggling to find a solution to make a submeshed car or whatever you call it

We don't use .blend files in RoR

You need to
- get a version of blender that supports the ogre import/export plugin
- get the ogre import/export plugin and set it up
- export your object using the plugin

You will get a .mesh.xml file after you export, you then use OgreXMLConverter to convert it to a .mesh file which you can then use in RoR.

I made a mesh.file, but it wont work after i attached it to the chassis of my drift thing idk
Idk man, time to troubleshoot

Make sure your prop definition in the truck file is correct

Look in the console in RoR (~ key to open console) it will tell you "material missing" or "prop invalid, skipped" etc.

Also make sure you applied scale and rotation to the mesh in Blender, the mesh might be loading but is too small or underground in game. Try turning on wireframe view in RoR.
