Hey folks,
Kinda new here! I haven't played RoR in about 16 years. On the old forums, I was known as JakeB or Jakebecwar. I was an Invited Member (big whoop lol). I'm so outdated and just old in general now. I'm also playing on a MacOS.

Is there a RoR chat still? I have kinda looked around and haven't found anything about it.
Does the number pad still work for everyone to control the camera view?
Is the .truck editor thingy still a thing or is it done in game now a days?

Can't believe there's still a following for this game, definitely glad there is! I have lots of core memories playing this, helping other folks, modding, and bringing a twist no one else really had.

We've all pretty much moved onto discord now. Tdev pretty much killed the old forums back in like 2015, and eventually gave a read only backup to the current staff. They were posted as archived content for a few years, but i don't think any still exist. Most of the old repository content can still be found here though. Truck editor might still exist, but think the general tool for doing N/b and modeling nowadays is just Blender

It's always so cool to have some of the early community members stop by and say hi!

I'm also playing on a MacOS.
This might not be ideal considering there isn't a MacOS version of RoR any more..

https://docs.rigsofrods.org/gameplay/controls-config/ same old, some new, but mostly same old, yeah

Truck editor hasn't been a thing in a long time, Editorizer is still around but considered outdated, nodeSnap was supposed to be a successor but was abandoned, has less features and is more buggy than Editorizer.

Like Darth said, most people use blender - if you already know how to manipulate vertices/edges/faces in blender, then it's the best option.

RoR has had a lot of quality-of-life improments over even just the past 7 years, things you would expect today, that older games didn't have, it's a lot more polished when it comes to usability

Hi, I've been playing Rigs of Rods since 2007 until now, and I also have BeamNG.drive, mainly because of the trains and its map editor. By the way, I once wrote on an old forum that Rigs of Rods could have an editor similar to Railworks or Trainz, but it just happened, not in Rigs of Rods, but in BeamNG.drive.

I know theres no Mac version, but through some trial and error, my amazing wife was able to get it working! So awesome to play this again! I got the number keys to work for the camera. Thankfully. Makes crawling so much more enjoyable.

Interesting to hear that Blender is how folks are doing the node and beam stuff now. If I ever get my old pc working, I have SOOO much stuff and mods and all sorts of goodies that I haven't seen here on the forums.

I'm way to excited to have RoR again lmao
