The Ikarus 266 is a common subtype of the 200 model family, with a stern engine and leaf spring chassis. It functions mainly as a commuter vehicle (with 2-4-0 door layout), although in the early days there was also a city version with a 2-4-2 layout. They have accordion doors and trilex wheels. They were originally made with a 5+1, later 6+1 mechanical gearbox and a Rába D 2156 HM6U diesel engine.
