i deleted 2022 and tried downloading 2026 on my windows but i cant, it keeps trying to open the downloaded file as a text file for some reason, can someone help me?

I wonder, does this issue apply to the Linux version? i didn't seem to encounter issues downloading the package, unless its not the same version?

Can you provide a screenshot? Are you downloading the .exe installer or the portable zip?

when downloaded it (following instructions, ofcourse) and loaded into a map, it crashed, could work it out any way to work, so i got the latest 2025.08 dev build version instead.
You can start a separate thread with RoR.log and extra details. We don't know something is a problem until someone reports it as everyone has different hardware. 2025.08 is not the latest dev build version.

Don't be so impatient, come on. Let the developers release an update when it's ready; which by the way, won't be 2026.2, because version names are based on the month they're released.

no, the .01 is January (think of 12 = December)
01 = January
02 = February
and so on

I get very good fps on linux despite having 4gb ram (up to 60 or maximum of 50) until i spawn a trillion things
The max fps i can have when i spawn several cars varies but 2021 is the best getting me a max of 60fps
I can spawn up to 6 cars at once here without lagging bad (up to 15fps when 6 are spawned) while in 2026.1, i can only spawn up to 2

Fun fact: Many of my mods are actually created in 2021.2, but function perfectly in 2026.1 and backwards.
