Why aren't maps showing in my game?

I downloaded some maps, the ice tube, Romania, Pollo, and the Audiman's Test Map from the Mini Pictures Archive and inserted them into my "mods" folder. When I booted up the software, the maps wouldn't show up, even though they were in my "mods" folder. Please help? thanks.

This issue probably comes from the old RoR mod installation system.

Vehicles and terrains were stored in two separate folders. Minipictures is an archive that still has mods made for the old RoR architecture.
The system for installing mods is now different (all mods go into one folder) and RoR gets confused with the old one.

None of these terrains contain the .terrn2 file. .terrn was used only in pre-0.4 versions.
Converting old terrain to terrn2 format.
