A little dashboard, so little in fact, that it doesn't get in the way even if positioned in the middle of your screen. So generic, that it could be from any vehicle, be it an old car, or a semi-truck.

flares are usually seen on vehicles, but they could also be on map objects like those on the community map
those flares are added in the .odef file & it's been a feature for a while, but there have been no docs for them so far

I made these a long time ago, though I was never 100% happy with them. I had only made an "8k km/h" version, so they were incomplete. I thought they were too good to throw away though, and just recently made 4k & mph versions so they'd work with all vehicles, and here they are.

So, this was something I wanted to do, and a genuine problem and I was going to post the topic, but I figured out a janky solution and here it is for future reference:
Have square on top of tacho.
Have a rectangle with two needles in that square.
