From RoR official docs: number of rays - Real number;The number of 'pie pieces' that make up the wheel. For reference, 3 makes the wheel triangular, and 4 makes the wheel square. Recommended values are between 10 and 16. If you use the basic wheels/wheels2/flexbodywheels you can just change it and you are fine.
